On Sunday 6th February 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will become the very first monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee – the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne. This remarkable achievement will be celebrated throughout the country and commonwealth and will culminate with a four-day national holiday next June. As the only monarch to reach this extraordinary milestone, a brand new, limited edition, countdown 3-coin cover has rightly been issued.

The cover’s centrepiece features three specially commissioned 2022 dated coins issued for the Queen’s 70thanniversary. The 10g, 15.5g and 31.1g coins has been expertly struck to the very highest proof finish in 999/1000 fine silver. Each coin’s reverse features our longest-serving sovereign official EIIR cypher at its centre surrounded by four shields representing the United Kingdom – the English Three Lions, the Welsh Dragon, the Scottish Lion and the Irish Harp. Between each shield is the number ‘70’ and around the coin’s edge is the inscription ‘Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee’. The all-important year dates of 1952 and 2022 completes the design. On the obverse is an official portrait of the Queen, who at the age of 95 years old, is our oldest serving monarch in the entire history of the British monarchy.

Perfectly complimenting this Platinum Jubilee coins is a replica of a specially commissioned hand painting of the Queen by renowned British artist, Diane Fawcett, in addition to the official Platinum Jubilee logo.

To complete this historic cover, it includes three commemorative stamps issued by the Royal Mail in 2002 to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. The stamps are cancelled on the 29th October 2021 – marking exactly 100 days before the Platinum Jubilee – using a specially designed handstamp – which sets in stone the low worldwide edition limit of only 149 covers.
