2022 marked the landmark 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne, a milestone never achieved before by any other king or queen in the history of the British monarchy. Each cover’s centrepiece features a full colour photographic coin expertly struck in 10g, 14.5g and 28.28g of 925/1000 sterling silver to the very highest proof finish. The coin’s reverse features one of the most iconic images of the 20th century, a full colour photo of the Queen by renowned British photographer, Julian Calder. The picture was taken for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002. For the very first time since the Queen’s coronation, she is wearing the magnificent 18-foot Robe of State, designed for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 1953 and the Diamond Diadem Crown. Next to the Queen and representing the sovereignty, is the Imperial State Crown, worn by the Queen after her crowning. Whilst on the reverse is an official portrait of the Head of State who inherited the throne from her father 70 years ago on the 6th February 1952.

Perfectly complimenting each photographic coin is a replica of a specially commissioned hand painting of the Queen by renowned British artist, Diane Fawcett, in addition to the official Platinum Jubilee logo.

To complete each historic cover, it includes a complete collection of five commemorative stamps issued by the Royal Mail in 1992 to mark the Queen’s 40th anniversary of her accession. The stamps are cancelled using a specially designed handstamp, which sets in stone the low worldwide edition limit of only 99 cover collections.
