Stunning limited edition £5 Coin Cover issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’ s birth

On 24th May 1819 Queen Victoria was born. Her reign as Queen would begin very early at only 18 years old and would last an impressive 63 years. Victoria’s remarkable reign was, following her death at the age of 81, the longest in our entire history! During this period, Victoria oversaw the expansion of the world’s largest empire as well as significant industrial and cultural change now known as the Victorian Era.

In 2019 to mark the 200th anniversary of her birth, a stunning limited edition coin cover has been issued. At the centrepiece, it features a brand new, limited edition £5 coin struck to a proof-like finish and plated in pure silver. The reverse features four portraits of Queen Victoria throughout her long and historic reign.

To perfectly complement this coin, the cover features six brand new, official Royal Mail commemorative stamps illustrating various stages of Victoria’s life including as a young princess aged eleven, her marriage to Prince Albert through to her later years. The stamps are cancelled on the very first day of issue - 24th May 2019 – the exact 200th anniversary birth date using a specially designed handstamp, which sets in stone the low worldwide edition limit of just 2,019 covers.

The significance of the 200th birth anniversary of this hugely popular Queen and the low worldwide edition limit are two key reasons why the cover is in very high demand. Harrington & Byrne has managed to secure a very small number of these attractive covers to offer today.
